Way to go! My mom was a legal immigrant. Spanish by birth, but was living in Germany. My dad was in the army and met her when he was stationed over there. They got married when she was 16, and they came back to the United States to live. She became a citizen when I was little and earned her high school diploma through correspondence. I still remember going into their room and seeing her working on her homework in the evenings.
She couldn't stand people coming here illegally. She worked so hard and went through so much to be here and to become a citizen. She learned the language, etc. It irritated her to see people just coming over here and breaking all the rules.
