Hello all,
My father is in the hospital in north FL due to post covid pneumonia. He feels fine, managed the covid and the fevers and all the symptoms at home, now just short of breath. Went to Hospital today, staff took X-ray and put him on oxygen. Also giving him steroids as the antibiotics didn’t work (viral pneumonia vs bacterial pneumonia)
We are obviously more worried about the fact that the hospitals are a for profit entity and possibly value the $60,000 covid death more than my fathers life. Although it is north Florida, which is mostly republicans...
As a precaution, and other than calling 24/7, what should we be doing to make sure the hospital is not playing around with my fathers life?
What have you (person in this situation) done when your loved one was in the hospital related to covid?
Prayers welcome
P.S. the good news is that he wasn’t admitted as a covid symptom patient rather it’s the pneumonia for the reason for being admitted... obviously due to Covid
You’re not there? At the hospital with him? Somebody needs to be with him 24 seven. If they say you can’t go in, then tell them you’ll take a Covid test. There are places you can get them for $100 and it’s a 15 minute test. And then the doctor gives you a paper. There are ways around that she just have to be very assertive. Don’t we here I’m alone in a hospital EVER covid or no Covid people are stupid, I took care of my dad for three years before he died. The stupidity of doctors is amazing
Yea I’m in Texas while my father is in FL. Only my parents left in FL while siblings elsewhere. Mother in hospital with father. We’re all calling consistently
