Need some encouragement
New Fren
I’ve been dooming pretty hard today. My husband and I are trying to plan a trip to Hawaii for our anniversary in April, but now my husband isn’t really eager to go anymore because they’re talking about those stupid vaccine passports. I’m just losing hope that Trump and the military are gonna do something and starting to worry that this is really just how things are gonna be now. I just really want something new to get my hopes back up.
I live in Wisconsin. I’m so tired of being told to ask students to put their masks on, and pull them over their noses. I have already received “the email” that I am not doing enough to encourage mouths and noses are not seen. I started giving out masks that are clean (I want to cry. I don’t want them, I will probably get fired for not pushing them, and all I can do is give free ones to kids whose parents aren’t cleaning them). The kids are in my room for a class, and then gone... I believe, I don’t doom, but I pray every day, sometimes multiple times an hour, that we are saved from this crap sooner rather than later.
You can't give up! Our patriotic teachers are so outnumbered its scary. The liberal teachers are not only pushing their values onto the children but in some states are holding the children's education hostage, because they hate Trump. We need amazing people like you to be there to make sure our kids are safe and that the school isn't pushing their agenda onto the kids. You're a good person, thank you so much for all you do for those kids. I cant tell how much you love them. I couldn't even imagine being a teacher in these times.. The reward for all your hard work was the smiles you saw when a child finally understood, got a good grade, won student of the month, etc. I think its criminal to force the kids to cover their face. I'm so sorry that this is what teaching has become. But if you give up it will be one less patriot teaching our kids, and the trust of our education system is declining. You matter.
How do the students feel about them?
Depends on the age really I've noticed. Its like as soon as they get in high-school they become socialized maniacs. My kid won't take the damn thing off and we never wear them to ANYWHERE. All her friends as well, I see the kids walking home talking with friends still wearing them. She had friends get a cold and everyone goes and gets the fake test which always says positive if you have a cold. Then they want to quarantine for 2 weeks afraid to do anything even with no symptoms. And I'm in a red state , red county
Have to remember high school is nothing but drama and fitting in, that’s nothing new so don’t be discouraged! I’m in NE and kids have been remote learning for 10 months (1 hs, 2 college). The high school has Ole I glass around the desks in top of masks. Funk dat! I told mine it’s perspective and a once in a lifetime opportunity to have adventures and live life, we run to warmer weather monthly to recharge (on a budget). Keep letting the kids do what makes them feel comfortable, rules were made to be broken!
Feel for you.
Middle school kids either hate them or like them. One student has worn a bead mask (no filter whatsoever), and has been takes to several times by administration. Her father is adamant that she not be required to wear one. He was given the choice if she goes to school with a mask, or home schools. I hate being caught in the middle. I can say, I don’t care if she wears the bead mask, but I can’t encourage it.
They should make the ones who are scared or vulnerable change their public lives and home school.
Just like the Jews prayed as they got on the cattle cars
Sounds like a fucking nightmare. I'm glad I didn't deal with this when I went to school. Hang in there. You are loved.
What happened to the kids that leave?
