I am sick of Christian friends who say the only thing we can do is pray. Not dogging you or your post at all bc I do believe in the power of prayer. And I am thankful you are calling people to actively pray for our nation. I have personally witnessed God's divine hand of mercy in my life and others, small and big prayers answered and truly humbling. But I am talking about those who say well God ordained Biden, He is still on the throne, we have to accept it as His plan, no need to fret or worry. That's like saying abortion is part of His plan, or murder, or rape, etc. Without getting into a theological argument over free will vs. election or corporate/group actions vs. that of individuals I will say that I think James made it clear that the better course is prayer as well as action. Jesus prayed but also acted, He was hands on and literallly not afraid to get his hands dirty, touch lepers, hug a decaying Lazarus, love a prostitute out of sin, dine with the tax collector, and on and on. Isn't praying coupled with action often the harder path? Praying for the issue at hand and for the way we act in response to the issue we are confronting. I also believe we must pray at times that God directs us when to act and when to remain silent. That is the rub or the balance in life as a believer. When is it God's will for us as His children to ACT here on this earth to carry out His plan? Some matters are clear as a bell and some take much discernment and wisdom. But I dare say that our modern world and luxuries have lulled us into complacency and weakness!
Many Christians don't know how to pray with power. As adopted children of GOD, we have authority to pray in the Name of Jesus and to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to do mighty works. We can tear down demonic strongholds and bind demonic forces. With the help of angels, we can even bind the powers controlling our congressman traitors so that they become confused and turn on each other. Prayer can be an offensive weapon.
We can plead the Blood of Jesus over those who have been enthralled to demonic forces since they were children and free them from control. This is artillery to soften up the enemy. Then we can pray for GOD to equip and send in the infantry.
The next step is to Ask the Holy Spirit to empower and guide us to be that infantry. We must go out to the lost and reach them with the power of our testimony of the Good News delivered in truth and love. This needs to be supported by prayer cover. For every soul we save, the enemy has one less NPC to use.
Finally, praying in the Spirit will allow GOD to guide us by His Spirit so that our actions are coordinated. When all normal avenues of communication are taken from us by the world, we will have the Holy Spirit to keep us in touch.
We are powerful because He who is in us is Powerful.
