Yes, he has gotten a bad rap! Like someone else we know!
I have a genealogy report that my late grandfather created on our family history, but unfortunately I don't have it with me here in FL where I spend the winter. I do remember hearing this genetic history as a child and then just prior to my 100 year old grandmother's passing last February, everyone in the family received a copy of the report.
History is so important and yet so many would like to distort it or erase it altogether.
It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance and I am proud to say that had I been able to vote in 1828 and 1832 , I would have voted for him, the reformer, the hero.
Anytime! One of my favorite stories is the battle of New Orleans. It looked like an impossible win for him and the pressure was on to save the U.S.A. He was outnumbered and outgunned. But the French still HATED the British and especially french pirates so Jean Lafitte teamed up with A.J. and brought 1,000 pirate friends to New Orleans. The rest is history :)
Love it! You can't keep the "good guys" down...no matter what the odds!
Always loved history in school, but realizing that I had to be older and experience these times we live in to truly understand "history" and it's relevance to these modern times!

You as well...and I would have voted for him too! :)
You are piquing my interest in reading up on Andrew J with what you have shared on here. Thank you.
