What happens when/if they make the minimum wage $15... and make it enforceable? And once we start to see the effects of that? Note I work for a smaller family owned business... they looked at me and said out right "none of us have really thought about that, but you make more than that"... though yes I do make over 15 its not much over, and assuming the effects are what they seem they will be... my wage will no longer be a comfortable living wage(hell it's barely a comfortable wage now).. so basically I was just told a cost of living increases hasn't even been considered and I'm going to go from earning a decent wage to a nearly unlivable wage. (Note: my position consists of multiple different duties that I've never met another single person able to do all three. Not bragging I just know my worth it would take two if not 3 people to replace me).

I lived in San Jose CA when they bumped the minimum wage...I was a supervisor making $5 more than min wage, had staff that had been there a few years making $2 or $3 more than minimum wage...after the increase I was only making $3 more than minimum wage and everyone else was now making minimum or just a dollar more...we also stopped hiring people and my crew went from 5 people to 3. All the liberals I worked with were pissed at the company saying they should have increased everyone’s wage by the same amount...I was the only one that predicted exactly what would happen haha and told them it doesn’t work like the fairy tale they think life is...
