They are claiming that they need 2/3 in the Senate to convict and remove from office, but only 50% + 1 to disqualify from future office.
What if they get around 55%?
The counter-argument will be that 50% + 1 was not enough -- still need 2/3. In fact, that point was brought up today.
It will just be another question left unanswered.
If he is not convicted, how could he be disqualified from office? I didnt hear there were different metrics for that.
I posted about a "different metric" a coupe of times last week. Its called 14A, a simple "censure" by simple 51+ majority, which they will easily have with the 6 GOPe traitors. Chucky dismissed it last week, but seeing how his criminal cabal is failing last I saw he may be ready to enact that.
