I keep thinking how long things took in the Bible. It would only take a verse or two to describe what had happened, but the event probably actually took months or years and had lots of complex moving parts. It would have seemed like nothing was happening, but looking back we can see God was working. I think that's what is happening here.

Yep, like how long did Noah take to build the ark? How long for Abraham and Sarah to have a son? Or for Messiah?
