Yes. I didn't include Rumsfeld but I do believe he could be a key to all this. He bought a ranch in northern NM with Dan Rather, but I couldn't find a purchase date. It was around the same time as other celebrities started moving here. Strange bed fellows. Peter Jennings also owned a ranch here, more south, supposedly inherited from his dad and added to by him. His ranch would have been closer to one of the other ranches owned by Ted Turner. Ted Turner owns a LOT of NM.
That's a shame. I have come to believe that all our Republicans are RINOs, including the state party. I think they are like Mitch McConnell and actually like being in the minority because they can appear to fight and bluster but they never actually have to accomplish anything. The ones from Valencia county met with the governor Friday and gave her a great photo-op for her re-election campaign, so she can pretend she's bi-partisan.
Yep!! Actually protested the governor to her face on Friday and forced a meeting with a state senator. Depending on how the meeting goes, may just start protesting and rallying myself and see how many people I can get to join me.
Madrid is near Zorro Ranch. There are SOOOOO many movies and shows filmed here. There is a huge Hollywood industry presence in NM. It's really boomed in the last 10 to 15 years. I used to think that was a good thing. Our politicians promote it heavily.
