You are bound to the Ten Commandments. They are the nature of reality as designed by the Heavenly Father. There is no getting rid of "thou shalt not steal" "thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife" "thou shalt not murder" (which Jesus goes further to say that hate in the heart is murder), etc.
But I don’t do those things, as I wouldn’t want them done to me, in accordance with the Christ’s teachings.
You missed the point. Those are part of the 10 commandments. Another is:
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.72 You have heard that it was said to the men of old, "You shall not swear falsely. . But I say to you, Do not swear at all.73
Which you say is Old Testament. No. It's the nature of reality for all time. Jesus reaffirmed the 10 Commandments, he did not do away with them. He did away with the burdensome laws the Jews made with no love in their hearts for God or one another. Those he rebuked are part of the Cabal that runs the NWO today.
You are responsible to live the 10 Commandments which means you do not use the name of God as a curse word, as instructed. Jesus Christ is the God of the Old Testament despite what Gnostics tell us.
Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come (Matt. 12:31-2 RSV).
Blasphemy requires repentance but it can be forgiven UNLESS it is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
If it is true that Jesus doesn’t want us swearing, I’ll try and quit it. If it’s the case that it merely bothers some people, I’ll probably not stop.
Yes, that is my mindset on the matter, as well. I don't suspect you're being facetious or arguing in bad faith.

You are way off base.
