During the early space shuttle program 70s. They were working on setting up solar arrays in space and beam the power back to earth. They did a small model to make sure no birds would fly through the beam and fry. They didn’t. I think the newest model is using a large disk (seen in the picture) and laser to the ground. Free energy. There was a lot of really cool projects that where shut down new metallurgy works and medial advances in space in non gravity environment.
