Just saw that a movie/propaganda piece has come out about the creation of the Silk Road, not watched it yet but has the same vibe as The Social Network, which is total bull crap..."Philosophical twenty-something Ross Ulbricht creates Silk Road| a dark net website that sells narcotics| while DEA agent Rick Bowden goes undercover to bring him down." https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7937254/. To me it is the best way for DS to sell drugs and people and arrange assassinations for bitcoin, while "they" take out the competition operating on "their" platform and look good in the eyes of the sheep.

If the entire website uses cryptocurrency/TOR, and 90% of the users are privacy-conscious computer experts, why would it be easy to track down and arrest the pedos and drug dealers?
Crypto might not be as anonymous as you think. https://www.thestreet.com/mishtalk/economics/500000-in-bitcoin-funneled-to-capital-riot-organizers. "Decloak" to identify suspects hiding behind the Tor anonymity network https://www.wired.com/2014/12/fbi-metasploit-tor/ Other approaches involve the use of sophisticated technology and hacking techniques. For example, the FBI used malware to go after child pornography site Playpen. The software caused users who clicked on the forum to reveal their real IP addresses, which were then sent to investigators. Another hacking technique exploited a vulnerability in the Tor browser, allowing investigators to see the IP addresses of Dark Web marketplaces and users. Ultimately, it's a game of cat-and-mouse.
