When the enemy expends ammunition needlessly, its great for the good guys. Traitors are dangerous and damaging because they sneak in and infiltrate and can subvert from the inside, where defenses are either non existent or much less.
Once their cover is blown though, they cease to be an asset for the enemy and instead become a liability. Because they can be captured and interrogated. Or fed false info if they dont know their cover is blown to confuse and blind the enemy.
