Kudos to you,I think the idea of a garden over a manicured lawn, is truly taking control over what we can. I'm not a doomer, but I understand the importance of being prepared for what may come, good or bad. A while back I used to watch that show 'Doomsday Preppers'
There was an episode that involved aquaponics, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxbAj3JjMZg that really inspired to this day. I believe we are soft as a nation and people, and have strayed far from the path of self sustainability. I always longed to regain the lost art of taking care of oneself, aka self reliance. I intend to utilize the old (and new) ways to be able to provide for my loved ones. My hope is that people will ground themselves and get back to our roots of community.
My goal with this post was not to illicit fear, but rather to provide hope and some guidance of what we should know and what we can do.
Another aquaponic link....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_zckvMTeto
