It all depends, you can buy some cheap gear... a wing(paraglider) for a few thousand bucks if you want to do free flight. You can spend a lot more for better, more aerodynamic wings and comfier harnesses.
I️ spent 4000 on my wing + harness and I'm very happy.
I️ can't remember what I️ spent on training, but it was like 4 or 5 days in SLC, Utah. I️ went to Cloud 9 Paragliding. Great company. Might have been 1-2 grand.
If you want to do Powered Paragliding, you'll need to spend at least 3 grand on the motor / harness. I know a few people in Colorado and Minnesota that can help get you trained up for around a grand.
So, in that ballpark depending on what you want to do.
It's worth it, though. It's an amazing experience.
Haha for sure! A little bit of what I meant was if you make friends and ask around and hunt, you can get some good second hand equipment from someone upgrading or something. I actually spent 2 grand on my motor that way. Not the greatest, but it's a solid Vittorazi engine in great condition. But yeah for a beginning id probably not recommend going that route
