Y’all, we knew about a week in advance that it was going to be cold. My husband works as a paramedic so I knew that I was likely not going to have my husband home went it gets cold or we lose electricity. We did what every responsible adult should do and ensured we had source of food, water, and heat. We made a game plan for what to do in various situations. Not once have we thought the gov’t would keep us save. Gov’t is a necessary evil at best, don’t expect them to care for you unless you want to become fodder.
