And this right here is the reason the only thing that can make me leave Texas is when I look around and can’t recognize Texas anymore. I grew up outside of Houston, moved to the Austin area for my college years, met a girl, settled down, and had a couple kids. Believe it or not, Austin has a lot less of a “hometown” feel than the more rural parts of Texas, including where I grew up, due to the transplant rate Austin experiences...but even the transplants seem to pick up on the Texas values pretty quickly.
