I’m not sure exactly, best It seems a server somewhere is saving them. An automated program that, in essence, takes a photo of the site at the moment requested. Good for seeing sites changes over time. A lot of articles they don’t like will get shut down. Sometimes you can search for them on the archive page at the bottom and someone will have kept it. I think it helps keep the “powers that be” from noticing the increased traffic to certain news in order to focus on censoring that news. I’ve had links disappear before. Whoever created this is a life saver. I have no reason to think anything nefarious is going on. It’s not stored on your phone. I suggest keeping a note on your phone with them for convenience.
