Link to a YouTube video discussion with Katie Couric & some of the people in documentary. Was actually looking for the video of the documentary when I saw this. Yeah I know I couldn’t bring myself to watch it myself, but would slide the bar to watch random parts & landed on something I didn’t know, was that Katie Couric’s daughter is a “fact checker” but as she puts it she “corrects misinformation” on FB. Go to 40.05 of video. That is if you can stand her talking.
My mom will not even begin to entertain any thought that goes against MSM. When we point out anything to her, she parrots back MSM or says she fact checked that and it was debunked. After 2 days of three siblings and I trying to get her to open her eyes and explaining the problems with her rhetoric, she told us to watch Social Dilnema so we could understand why our country is so divided. So, I am going to say that Social Dilemma is probably a propaganda tool that validates liberals self righteousness and MSM narrative while pointing out the so called illusions and conspiracy theories conservatives latch onto as causing the divide in our country. I don't know for sure, I can only assume because my mom tried to get us to watch it to justify her thinking.
My husband said you want to watch this, I said sure lets see what this is about. At first when they were talking about the dark side of social media, I thought how is netflix showing this, I was surprised they put this on their site, but then when they brough up pizzagate as misinformation, I told my husband now I know why they are allowing this on their site. They talk about how the tech uses the data it collects from us to divide us. What they don't say is that how all those out rioting are being paid by left to push their agenda. And my husband says "you see that's why I say to stop reading about those conspiracy theories." But yet he is just as upset about the election steal as we are and doesn't like anyone on the left either, we agree on politics. So I stay quiet now until he brings things up, because he said he doesn't want to talk about politics anymore because it makes him angry, so I stay quiet until he brings it up, and I say "uh huh" "yup" "I know", and drop a few little tid bits of truth to him at a time. He's a really good hardworking man, husband & father. I don't want to stress him out over things we can't control. He has a somewhat stressful job and I don't want to add to his stress, we aren't spring chickens anymore.
When it came to the point where the people in the documentary were asked where they think this is all heading, and they said civil war. My husband said "and all the people who have been prepping for years will come out of this fine. Because they have been preparing for this to happen."
So in the middle of the documentary he thought I shouldn't read conspiracy theories but at the end he says preppers are the ones who will be prepared. Isn't that what most preppers are to alot of people are conspiracy theorists?
