DDG uses Bing as its search engine. You have to use a different one like Qwant to get different (better) results...

All DDG is promising is that they will track you less than the major search engines... so what they are doing is acting as a front end to Bing with some of the tracking features disabled. Still, that is better than nothing.

Qwant is French, and uses their own different tech instead of Google or Bing. Hopefully different in this case also means better...
