The statement from the Capital Police Department in DC reads:
"Our Office of Professional Responsibility is investigating the actions of 35 police officers from that day (Jan 6th). We currently have suspended six of those officers with pay. Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman has directed that any member of her department whose behavior is not in keeping with the Department’s Rules of Conduct will face appropriate discipline."
Will be interesting to see and hear if anything comes of this. If these anti-Trumpers really pursue their lawsuits, all the crap of that day should come out. I suspect it is all for show and the suits will fall away, otherwise they will implicate themselves.
As I said, Congress (Pelosi) controls the USCP. The only info which gets out is approved by her. If she wants something buried, it will be be memory holed. The most real info is from the letter from Chief Sund released.
What I can tell you is that the security posture for an event (06 Jan) they had advance threat notice for, was about 1/5th of the posture for previous security incidents - active shooter, anthrax, etc.
The Capitol is a fortress and can be completely sealed against entry. USCP has enough vehicles and armament to repel a small army if needed.
Sund said in his letter that he was provided no intel that there was anything planned other than typical protest. He said his department was not prepared to handle a couple thousand 'insurrectionists'. Not sure how much he is just trying to save face but seemed quite legit. His statement about how the rioters were coordinated destroys the narrative that they were incited by Trump's speech.
I have read all kinds of conflicting statements about who can call for and who authorizes the NG in DC. But I would love to see Pelosi under oath answer as to what intel she had about the event. Schumer and McConnell as well.

"In a detailed letter addressed to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund said the department "did not fail" on Jan. 6, arguing that Capitol Police did everything it could with the intelligence available beforehand, but still did not expect a group of "thousands of well-coordinated, well-equipped violent criminals" to attack law enforcement at the Capitol building."
