Years ago when Gov. Perry and the Legislature set up this system of deregulation of the power grid, there was a plan in the bill that would allow the coal-fired plants in the State to be upgraded and additional gas turbine plants to be built. Well, the dummycrats lost their shit and that part of the proposal was shit canned.
What they need to do is dust off the plans and start construction of Reactors C and D at the South Texas Project because everyone can see that the bird slaughtering windmills in West Texas are not all they were promised to be.
There is NO way any legislature would have funded the type of grid to allow for this type of load. It's a "100-year storm" situation. Buy a fucking generator, store some extra food, keep some 20L containers of water handy and toughen the fuck up. This is Texas dammit. We don't want nor need anyone from DC telling us how to build any damn thing.

I am looking into buying a GENERAC generator as it is about 4000. Dollars but would be well worth it as we also have huricanes fucking us like the demonrats,and useless Rinos who Cruz to mexico when the going gets tough.

Generac's are good as long as your natural gas supply isn't shut down or propane supply emptied. I personally went with a tri-fuel portable generator that is large enough to power 80% of my house.
I keep 50 gallons of gas and 200 lbs of propane at all times. I run it off natural gas and have the others for back ups.
