Why didn't Mitch McConnell just get all of the republicans in the senate to vote guilty? I get he's completely innocent, but why not just frame him and get him out?

I'm hearing rumors that Trump and Mitch are actually working together, and that their latest spat is purely disinformation...

It's hard to know what to believe these days.
