What if they’re coming back to observe things happening now that have lots of conspiracies about it in the future. Think going back to JFK’s assassination to see what really happened, like the novel 11.22.63. Except they’re coming to our present because everything happening now is leading up to THE BIG EVENT. This big event isn’t explained completely by mainstream sources, which fuels theories on what really happened until time travel is available and people decide to come back to figure out the truth.
