Yes, I live in the only state in OZ starting with the letter 'Q'. Forgive this long rant...
So, last night I attended an indoor venue, full to capacity (2,000). Not a mask in sight and impossible to social distance, regardless of the recommendations from those in control.
The artists featured are legends in the Australian music industry - Kate Ceberano, Brian Cadd (AXIOM), John Paul Young and Glenn Shorrock (Little River Band). They were all eager to shake off the dust of their 12 month enforced 'lockdown/no live performance' hiatus. All due to an oppressive leftist government regime in our most southern mainland state.
I was keen to hear Glenn Shorrock perform, but about 2/3 of the way into the show, he dedicates the song 'Lonesome Loser' to Trump, amid the cheers and jeers of the crowd. Not long after, John Paul Young dedicates his song 'Yesterday's Hero' to Trump and renamed as 'Yesterday's Nero'...needless to say my applauding ceased at this point and I was extremely disappointed with these cheap shots that had no relevance for the occasion. The vast majority of the audience were boomers and gen X - I hate the labels, but you get the picture. During the exit with dozens of other patrons and to the chagrin of my wife, I made a loud verbal outburst about the BS comments made against Trump, whereas the attack should have been against the dictatorship that recently caused so many hardships in the southern part of our country.
The artists themselves rambled on about their scamdemic lockdowns between every song FFS. So, in summary, still a long way to go to get these people to understand how they're being played...so much shock still to come for them all.
Well there are some more of our Aussie legends to add to the list of disappointments!!
Too true, true-blue!
