A great book to read about the truth of historical slavery and how the US only had 5% of the world slave trade is Slavery, Terrorism, and Islam by Peter Hammond.

I had read 4% somewhere and the ashkenazis owned the ships. A little shocking as it’s always been presented a lot differently.
