This humble man reminds me of a story my pastor told us, to get a message across of ‘no one is insignificant’ and we may be surprised when we see who were the real HEROES in life.

It went like this: In heaven God was handing out rewards and acknowledgements for work done on earth, he got to the final three trophies on the table…. 1st 2nd and 3rd place.

Sitting there without any rewards so far were, John Wesley, Billy Graham and Martin Luther King Jr Everyone looked excitedly as God picked up the 3rd prize trophy “I want to give this 3rd prize to John Wesley for all the hard, dedicated work, you did so selflessly for My Kingdom. Everyone clapped. He then picked up the 2nd prize trophy and called out the name “Martin Luther King Jr…… I would like to present this 2nd prize to you for the tireless difficult work you did for your fellow men which in turn brought freedom to all.” Everyone clapped. Then the room fell silent as all eyes were focused on Billy Graham…….God proceeded to pick up the first prize trophy, all held their breath as he said “And this first place trophy goes to”……..as he scanned the room…..”ah there you are”……as he points to a little old lady in the far corner of the room…..”please come forward Mrs Smith this reward goes to you!” Gasps from everyone there…….. Then he continues………”because, if it were not for your prayers Mrs Smith, this fine fellow Billy Graham would never have been saved all those years ago, and my, my look how many millions of people are here because of his preaching!”

This little story has stuck with me for many years.

NO ONE is insignificant to God, and we are going to be surprised one day !
