I was thinking the same as I read the letter but I am leaning more towards ignorance. He does get one point for responding in a civil and not condescending way. I was automatically thinking of how I would respond. There are clearly so many things he is clueless about. Since I don’t really know this man, I can’t accuse him of being an outright liar. I would start my letter with something like ‘do you know the origin of the term ‘conspiracy theory’?
