I believe he was there for the speech. I also believe that he KNEW about the plan to “storm” the Capitol which is why he was 45 minutes late and then rambled to push the speech long.

But I also think the “go home peacefully” speech was prerecorded, and Trump quietly got the hell out of Dodge as soon as he was done.
