A few years ago I was only semi red pilled. I have been libertarian for ten years however I was not really on the Trump train. I cared more about TV shows and tv criticism than politics. I was interested in being a TV critic.
I started to get really pissed off cause the "consensus" of TV critics started to clearly fuck up in my eyes! There were great shows being ignored and ones with clear flaws or just weren't that special that were being called one of the best shows of all time. Now you may wonder how I can say that with such certainty such art is subjective, but there is a "margin of error" I think and in my opinion they were outside of it. I knew there's no way I was that wrong and it drove me insane for years even before I really started to realize US was turning Marxist. What's more is that it became obvious to me that the entire rating of TV shows was clearly based on what I would describe as twitter groupthink. You basically had 5-10 tv critics who were the "tastemakers" and like their own friend club like twitter. The were basically the ONLY ones that mattered when it came to deciding what the rating of the best shows currently are. Then like 50 critics who always matched the "consensus" opinion that were made by those tastemakers. These surplus critics are the rough equivalent of the people who write "_____ has a racism/sexism problem" articles, all they're doing is copying what's popular opinion on twitter and they're all the same. Then r/television which is basically the r/politics, basically a bunch of people with Marxist brains who place oversized value on following the "consensus ranking" and pretty much slaves to what a handful of top tv critics told them to think. It's basically a mini version of what's happening with MSM. Instead of the NYT and WaPo you have the TV critic versions of it with the 5 or 6 most well read ones deciding everything for people. They treat those selected tv critics like Dr Fauci where you're supposed to trust the science over your own opinion. What's more is it's almost like they viewed them as the "elites" and therefore better than normal people, much like the elitism we're seeing now. And all I can say is that r/television is exactly what you'd get if you took people with r/politics psychological status and made them talk about tv shows. I once made a thread asking if there was ANY conservative posters there and of course there was 0.
I thought I'd share that since it shows what's going on right now psychologically with the left on a smaller scale. My guess is that these people originally got brainwashed on political issues and then their same MSM type obsession carried over.
It’s all a circus.
I feel so cynical writing this, but then I have faith in knowing that as bad as the system is it’s only fully indoctrinated a small percentage of the populations of the West.
If you listened to the UK press since 2000 you would think that X Factor is a must watch. Figures show that in recent years less than 7 million watched the final. 90% of us would rather watch paint dry.
A no1 single in the UK will be downloaded by 1-2% of the population.
A top blockbuster will be seen by less than 20% of the population.
Glossy mags only get read by 1% or less of the population and even a huge Twitter following of 90million ( Donald Trump) is only 1-2% of the world maybe only 20% of the US.
The positive is that this system is aggressive but can’t brainwash more than a small minority to be a part of it.
From the moment a new blockbuster gets a green light a system kicks in.
Pre production exclusive behind the scene info.
Glossy mags ( Conde Naste) fashion shoots, the big star going to the fashion weeks.
Production scheduled for 3-6 months. Inside exclusives, tragic fire on set, injury to main stars little finger( Bond is best for this).
Then we have the making of documentary that used to be an extra on a DVD. If they’ve set it up right they get a prime time slot. Remember this is an offcuts put together with 2 minutes of film footage.
Then if you check on IMDB you can see how the role out begins. US/ Can then UK.Your now 3 weeks in and the stars have done the light night chat shows in the US. If it’s got a British star/ producer/ connection Graham Norton Show is a must.
This period is when the dubbing occurs which allows a further 3-6 weeks of activity in Europe, repeating of the above. At various points pre selected influencers promote the Movie to their followers.
By the time a blockbuster had stopped on the big screen if they got it right they could stretch out 6-9 months around the world.
Then they start it again based on the big screen success through TV. In the UK it’s so bad that we have a TV show called gogglebox. This show records 10 or so families sitting at home passing comments on the shows they are watching! The families fit all profiling mixes. The ad breaks promote the system further. They only comment on the selected big productions .
The stars of this show ( it’s probably been around about 10 years) have become celebrities with Instagram Twitter profiles to promote themselves and the shows and products they promote.
Unfortunately this system forces itself on you from all angles. My family discipline ourselves to 1-2 hours of Selected TV a night. No reality, no ad break TV, no news channels in the background. I listen to a commercial radio station that gives you a choice of platforms. If I’m driving I learn to turn it off at around 5 to to 5 past the hour as this is a major adbreak and MSM provided news.
Despite trying to live out of the system at some point I’ll discover the latest exploits of the Kardashians, who the weeknd are or that daft punk have retired.
