The public schools are awful. They are one of the most awful things in our entire country. If I could choose to abolish public schools or the central bank, I would probably pick the schools. That'd be a tough choice though actually!
Lol really tough. I'll take both please. I'm greedy like that hahaha
They are just sooo awful. I encourage every parent I know to at least strongly consider homeschooling. There are so many resources available, now. You can give your children an incredible education, and it's really not hard. You can research and buy whatever curriculum you decide is best, and find some great educational games/materials. Many of these things are cheap. There are printables you can get for less than $50 that are filled with reading and writing games that will go through several grade levels. And for that price you get a ton of materials.
You are exactly right!. I homeschooled in the 90's and early 2000's before it was a thing. I certainly didn't do it perfectly. But I am glad I tried. My adult kids are pretty conservative because they didn't get a steady indoctrination from leftist teachers. Turned out to be good people. Faith, family and curious to still learn. Now there are so many great resources on the computer. I learnedto teach at each childs pace and to use each ones learning style. So much time wasted in public schools like you said. Hard to counter all that in a few hours in the evening with your children.
If you instill a love of learning in your kids, then you've done your job, so way to go! The love of learning is the greatest gift that can ever be given and something public school tries to stamp out. I'm fortunate that although I did go to public school, I've always had a very curious nature. Everyone gets some gaps in their education no matter what. I had a horrible world history teacher, so I learned nothing in that class. It's a big gap for me, but I love learning, so I've actually studied and learned more about world history now that I'm an adult.
I do find it interesting that almost all of my close friends and my husband were all homeschooled. I'm drawn to homeschoolers lol. I think it's because they are truly independent thinkers. And you are totally correct that it was much more challenging when you were doing it. It's so easy now with all the materials and resources that are available. Many are free or very cheap. If God ever blesses my husband and I with children, it's not even a question for me.
I recommend trying for anyone that is awake to the indoctrination happening. These parents right now aren't taking advantage of the virtual learning time to get to know what children are being taught or presenting more facts or teach critical thinking skills. It's not enough to be able to quote dates. Need to be able to understand the intricate tangle of events that led to the big events.
I would choose the bank just because I can still homeschool my own children.
