I have a cousin I'm close with that is "trans". she wants me to call her a him and I've refused and relayed to her that I love her regardless of decisions she makes in life including her decision to be "trans" which I have said is a mistake. she loves me like no other and doesn't have a good father figure. I do believe she has had her mind scrambled and she's been encouraged to be "trans"
given my experience with this I'd suggest we be careful not to alienate them. for example, she used to be anti trump and I changed he mind. she used to believe the MSM and now she realizes they are liars. she used to be for special protections because of her "trans" status and I got her to realize that we all have to deal with things in life and especially as kids growing up. these encounters build our resolve.
she is taking hormones at age 16 or 17 (don't recall exact age now), which I tried to talk her out of on the premise that having your own kids is so amazing that one shouldn't interfere with their natural biology, but of course she feel comfortable that with new technology she'll be able to have a kid
just my 2 cents for anyone that doesn't have any close first hand experience with a "trans"
