Here's my anecdotal experience: I worked on an AF base as a DoD civilian in a red state for 6 years. I made about 10 personal friends who were active duty (officer and enlisted) at the time. The highest ranking at the time was a Major. All but one turned out to be brainwashed progressives.
In my experience, the military strongly pushes the progressive narrative. They tend to adopt progressive policies before the general public does because they are trying to influence the public. Even as a civ, I was required to take endless training on various discrimination and sexual harassment because #MeToo was all the rage at the time.
