This Bidan photo is misunderstood.

Because they were filming in an awkwardly tight space, the cinematographers needed to use hard light, with no diffusion, so they could flag the lights so they don't spill on the extras in the background.

This particular light source was below eye level to even out the harsh, direct key light from above. If you watch the video, you can see Biden's hand obstructing the light and this awkward shadow goes away. The host also had a similar shadow above his collar.

Just wanted to throw that out there - so you don't fall into confirmation bias spiral.
