What characters in literature resonate with us/you the most?

For me it's Winston from 1984 and John the Savage from Brave New World. I haven't got around to reading Ayn Rand yet but I've been told John Galt? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Carrie McGavock, she tended the hundreds of graves on her land of the fallen soldiers, north and south. She researched the names of said soldiers, to inform their families of their boys whereabouts and made sure their headstones were not unmarked.
