Oh I completely agree not to just blindly trust anyone. We all need to use discernment. This is WHY I believe in waiting to have sex. Sex muddles things and gets emotions and feelings involved and makes it harder to make more rational decisions. To use my relationship as an example, my husband and I chose to have a friendship for a month before we even started officially dating. We got to know each other to see if we were compatible. We were extremely intentional in our dating and didn't see dating as "fun" or just hanging out. I think if more people did this, there would be a lot less hurt. You get time to really get to know someone as a fellow human before letting your feelings get really involved.

So I completely agree not to just go all in right away. Take some time. Get to know the person. Instant gratification is a huge issue in our culture. Building deep meaningful relationships and trust takes a long time and it takes having a lot of discernment. But if you want to have a good partner, the first step is to be a good person. If you want respect and love and honor, it's important to be a respectful, loving, and honorable person. It doesn't mean to trust just anyone, it just means by showing good qualities you are more likely to attract a partner with good qualities. <3
