Man, it took my girl about a year and a half to get onboard with what I share with her about these sorts of things, and she was raised with a family that watches the news like it's their job. It stressed her like hell at first. It takes giving info by the spoonful, rather than the meal. (With the "less crazy" stuff first.) Don't dishearten yourself, those close to you are the most important to get to see the truth.
