I am a veteran, and that was my experience, mental breakdown and all. It's not fucking cool to be sent somewhere as mafia enforcers, leg breakers, while the mission is disguised under the color of patriotism and love of freedom.

My childhood was filled with some of the greatest recruitment tools used on American youth, like G.I. Joe and Red Dawn, and of course all the WW2 - Vietnam classic movies always playing on our 3-station tv set. All lies. Didn't know then, but know it now.
