Have you ever seen the movie Big Fish? Watch it, and you'll understand Charlie Ward. I wouldn't go so far as to say that he is totally credible. Neither would I say he is totally wrong about everything. I believe a lot of Charlie's trust lies in the middle. Does that make him a grifter or a conman? Maybe, but my father was a bit like Charlie. He'd never do anything to harm anyone, but he could spin stories. For years, I believed he lied. What I found was more truth than I'd ever realized in some truly incredible stories recounted by those who knew him best well before I came along. Charlie has probably done a lot of what he says he's done. Is he right about everything he's heard or seen. Probably not.
