There are a few things interesting about this incident:
Apparently they don't believe in the virus but only in imposing their authoritarian will on others. Because if they believed in the virus, they would not be getting close enough to this guy to wrestle him down and at the same time, risk getting or spreading the virus. Canada can be a very petty place at times. I would bet this is more about 'If I have to wear a mask, then you have to as well. Otherwise, it's not fair.'.
Every municipality has exceptions for wearing masks (for example: asthma) and you do not have to disclose what condition you have. Whether a lot of these places actually know about this is a whole other story but it is the law and they have an obligation to know about it. So it is actually these idiots wrestling this guy were not following the law. As far as they know, they could have just beat up a guy with a disability (breathing disorder). This just shows you how tolerant many people of Canada actually are (especially the lefties). It's better to appear to be virtuous (beat up an evil guy not wearing a mask) than to actually be virtuous (leave the guy alone, he's not hurting anyone, he might have a breaking disorder as far as you know).
The Canadian government has sure done a good job of pitting the people against each other. Instead of applauding the people who break these stupid and useless rules, there are apparently people who are bitter that those people have the courage to do it while they don't (because it's definitely not about any virus, see point 1 above). And they go after those people, instead of unifying against the government. No chance of a popular revolt here (Canada).
Those in Canada already know the answer to this one, but I will ask it. What do you think would have been their reaction if the guy was just shoplifting instead of refusing to wear a mask?
The answer to 4 tells you a lot about the state of things in Canada. Kind of reminds me of the gullag archipelago. The thieves (true criminals, non-politicals) are tolerated by much of society and the government because they are seen by the left (who run the government and media and much of society in Canada) as political allies.
