I'm a little too sleepy for this, so I will try my best to articulate my thoughts.
SO, they want to give human rights to robots...Okay. Right now, form a civilian point of view, I don't see them as advance enough to require these rights right yet. They are still just programmed machines to carry out their programmed actions. While they have a brain to understand these commands and carry them out without question, it;s more like slavery then anything, an this is just lip service.
Let's swing back to this debate in the future when the machines develop their own consciousness, and their understanding of a soul. Then, we can figure out a bill of rights for mechanoids.
