I never saw anything concrete saying gab was hacked.

Everyone on gab has been bashing Biden and claiming election fraud. If they didn’t have their own servers, they’d be gone by now. See Parler.

What would ever be wrong with choices? You don’t have to go on the site, buy the phone or the cable box but I’m willing to bet you’d be treated much better by the gab company than you are by your current service providers.
