Ive thought about that many times. My thought is that if he played a humble and reserved character, the masses would not have paid attention for better or worse.

Acting the way he did got many people listening and possibly opening their eyes, this outsider came in and challenged the establishment in many ways. He wasn’t afraid of their retaliation. That also tells the establishment he isn’t backing down easy.
