I know this isn't Q related except that Q research has led me back to God and prayer. I thought there was a forum on .win as I have some questions I wanted to ask the more experienced on baptism for the birth of my 1st child. I don't have a religious denomination having been raised and confirmed catholic, I proceeded to disavow it all after 18 and didn't enter a church again until 2 years ago. It was an evangelical church and I understand they don't baptize babies. I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on baptism for babies -
However I don't see a8 forum in my side bar related to God or religion. Can anyone tell me the name of the .win? Thanks and sorry for the non q related post.
Yes there is a Christian .win site, don't have the link off hand. Perhaps someone else can provide it.
I wonder why it doesn't show on the list of .wins for me. Maybe it is because I'm on my phone
Someone makes a post for this everyday. You can check (speaking to OP).
Thank you. I added it to my home screen.
Like you I am a confirmed catholic. I never left the church....but stopped going for a while. I ended up getting married in the church and got my daughter baptized at the same church. It is a catholic church that doesn't alienate the people who aren't......consistent. Anyway, we got our daughter baptized and will let her decide what she believes when she is confirmed. I dont really think denomination really means all that much. I think God just wants you to be a good person and talk to him every once in a while.
I dont really care about a denomination and frankly I doubt I'll go back to catholicism...it is what drove me away in the first place....man made rules I couldn't reconcile with God or faith.
I wasn't sure how important baptism is for non catholics after seeing other denominations not practicing it. So I agree children are without sin but I wasn't sure what other meanings if any it has other than the catholic church believes your soul cannot go to heaven without it. As a catholic we had Bible study as children but I'll be honest we didn't read the actual book much just went to church. I learned the parables and prayers of course.
I mean the whole purpose is because of "original sin." I dont know how someone with limited cognitive ability could be a sinner. The only reason I still go to a catholic church is because there are certain things that still feel special to me. Certain smells or feelings....I dont know. It just makes me conscious of God. I am not much for evangelizing....it is what it is....church is what you make it....it can be anything. If you feel in touch with God while golfing or fishing....so be it.
This is what I think about infant baptism: Mark 2:17 little children are without sin
I will read it tonight. Thank you.
KJV
