Literally? - No. Cancel culture isn't determined by the mases, but by the elite.
We could argue that in Capitalism a business is ostracized, and sometimes demonized by the "elite" as well.
Also, Cancel Culture is not just Roseanne being kicked off TV, etc... It is also Gillette taking losses after getting "woke" (aka "Trump Curse" or get-woke-go-broke).
The Masses have just as much say as the elites. That's what scares them.
Capitalism is cancel culture. Literally and figuratively.
Figiratively: People started to realize (if only subconsciously) that their attention is a a valuable currency.
