They do have a purpose, they are actually educating some people that probably wouldn't have been reached before even if they are disingenuous and, at worst, leading people too far away from the truth. ( I know, oxymoronic).
It is too bad they are turning out to be another diversion, hopefully not a honeypot, and they don't ultimately derail in the sense that Voat and some others have.
There is a lot to worry about, and right now I can't think of something that derailed me as much personally as the loss of an information source like Voat, but that is just because of how bad it stung.
Voat had its issues but it also allowed broader topics. Have a free and open website is how it should be but people should have enough education, morals, and ethics to reflect an IQ high enough to recognize that, yeah you can say whatever you want but you don't need to.
People are reaching a boiling point, I can't tell you how many times in the past month where, someone I have had the misfortune of being around out in public, has just acted completely irrational.
I personally had to check myself yesterday when some "Karen" was waving at me to slow down in her neighborhood when I was driving at exactly the posted speed limit. Little things, little things that reflect the unease in people's minds, little things that combine into bigger things.
It is very worrying and people need to WTF (wake and what) as fast as possible. The insanity of nearly all of our leaders, if their actions hold, signal the fastest decline I have ever experienced.
