“Fata Morgana” is a well-established, well-explained phenomenon. Although these recent images are certainly among the most strikingly clear I have ever seen. Very, very cool!
There are a lot more cameras now to capture images like this and more people are remember to or thinking of taking pictures. I still am not in the habit and miss photographing many cool things.
When I first saw this picture, I didn't know about this reason I'vejust learned. Just thought that it would be a cool way to have ufo tech in the real world in plain sight.

Temperature inversions are very real and well known, it's how mirages work.

This happens sometimes where Chicago Skyline can be seen from the shores of Lake Michigan 60 miles away, even though Chicago is below the horizon .

Yep, a camera sees the same image as your eyes do.
