I thought Jason left because he and family were being threatened. My opinion is Trey Gowdy was forced to resign and agreed to cooperate/ assist when needed, i.e. impeachment defense, etc. I suspect he was colluding with Paul Ryan to slow walk the House Russia Investigation with no subpoenas. Q did say he would have another role though. That never happened.
