As everyone on here already knows, the fact checkers are just another layer of propaganda used by the msm to discredit (by any means, including through lies) information they find inconvenient and is often actually true.

It seems to me like the idea was started around the 2016 election, when too much truth about Hillary was floating around and resulted in Trump getting elected. The msm was throwing around terms such as fake news about anything that didn't agree with their narrative. However, who is to say what is fake news or what is not? So they created an additional propaganda arm and called it the 'independent fact checker'. Except nothing independent or fact based about them. They lie and manipulate as much as the msm.

On the bright side, the so called fact checkers do stem from people losing faith in the media. Otherwise, why would they need them? The msm could do their own fact checking from their primary outlets if people still trusted those outlets. Then they could point social media posts to those articles. Interesting that they don't.

I doubt that most people trust the so-called fact checkers. However, it does provide the msm an extra layer that needs to be overcome before fully red-pilling someone (so can slow down things) because even if you can convince them that most of the msm outlets are lying, you still have to show them that the fact checkers are the same thing (although I don't think it is necessarily that hard, the fact checkers, just like the main msm, don't even pretend to be impartial either, they differ from the msm in only the 'fact checker' label).

All in all, I think the whole fact checker experiment has failed for the msm, although I'm not sure they have realized it yet because they continue to waste money on it.
