Well this may not help your anxiety but I was always to understand that the speaker of the house would fall into the VP role if something were to happen to the president. No matter who it is, it's going to be some piece of shit we don't want. But I don't know what would give them the authority to just fill in any old person they want. There's a succession that is pre-ordained. But then nothing makes any sense anymore and nothing is done how it's supposed to be so this may all be hot air.
Not true...

Actually since I stand corrected, I'll share the text of what I just read (I went to law.cornell.edu as I don't trust USA Today generally) and it states:
Amendment XXV Section 1.
In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President. Section 2.
Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.
Well there you have it. Thank you - I wasn't aware. God help us all.
Indeed. Our country needs prayer more than ever
There would be no way to object. Deaf ears. Media wouldn’t talk about it
